Medicine Lodge is located in the heart of the “Gyp Hills” an area unique in Mid-America and unlike any other place in Kansas known for its red dirt with beautiful buttes and deep canyons with vast expanses of range land.

Kiowa, Kansas, with a population of 1000, is located in southern Barber County between the Medicine River and Oklahoma. Downtown Kiowa is clean, modern, attractive and includes a movie theater.

Agriculture continues to be the largest industry.
